About Eryn Elder
Grief and Loss Support Specialist and Coach
Hello from Colorado. I’m Eryn Elder, grief and loss coach and founder of Roots and Wings Grief and Loss Coaching.
Grief and loss changes you. After the unexpected death of my first-born daughter, I was thrown into the abyss of grief. I have been there. Additionally, I have coached hundreds of individuals using a life coaching approach and have served as an administrator of a coaching program at the University of Colorado, Boulder. I also hold a Grief and Loss Support Specialist Certificate and a master’s degree in education.
Every day, we are transformed. Navigating the intense transformation resulting from grief and loss can be challenging and even halting. Let’s shoulder this journey together
to find hope.
to understand how your grief and loss are shaping you.
to use that understanding to break through and grieve as you need to as your authentic self.
A good listener. Effective collaborator. And caring guide. These are all phrases clients have used to describe my practice. I effectively listen to you while also finding meaningful ways to collaborate with you to bring the change in your life that you want to manifest.
I am a highly-skilled grief and life coach, and I have trained numerous coaches on best practices in coaching. I am also a grief expert and have helped hundreds of individuals find hope and create meaning in their lives.
In your grief support appointment, I utilize a coaching framework that helps expand, explore, and uncover your unique needs and desires to work with your own grief and loss.
Since the death of my daughter ten years ago, I have worked diligently to understand my own grief by attending counseling, coaching, support groups, and more. I get what these types of services may feel like from the client side, and I have experienced both the hope and disappointment they may bring.
Grief has been a fascination of mine since I was young, and I help you understand the depths of your grief from both a research-based perspective and, more profoundly, your perspective.
This is a calling of mine. Supporting you in the grief and loss space is what I have been working toward my entire career and did not know that until five years ago. That is the power of grief. It can tangle and untangle our stories to set us on the path that we are meant to live.
In 2022, I created the Bloom Model for Grief and Loss, which helps you understand your grief in relationship to thirteen different life factors that your grief may intersect with as you learn more about yourself. This model helps you recognize what is happening both internally and externally for you in your grief experience.
Additionally, my forthcoming book, Blooming Through Loss: Tending to Grief, will be available early 2025, and it provides the space for you to explore the Bloom Model in more depth and provides scaffolded exercises for you as a griever for hope and understanding of yourself.
Aside from my work in the grief support space, I enjoy running, listening to music and playing the piano, writing, drinking coffee, walking with friends, and spending time with my family.
I encourage you to be the author of your story while serving as a guide and responding to your needs with compassion and care.
