Grief makes even small decisions feel overwhelming. We can focus on small moments as coping tools for our grief.
Our grief needs a way to flow, and it can be challenging to find opportunities for movement, creativity, and meaning making, especially amidst grief and loss.
We can lean into small acts. Small acts of intentional moments to process our pain and the hopes of grief too. Grief delivers both.
This can be physical, such as walking, and/or creative, such as painting.
A way for our grief to flow through and with us as we integrate our new loss into our lives and now live a different life, both changed and the same.
As you grieve, be compassionate with yourself. The energy it takes to grieve can be tremendous, so consider some gentle, small moment options, such as:
Walking outside
Stretching
Writing
Drawing
Painting
Talking
Resting
Drinking tea
Creating warmth with blankets
Reading
Acknowledging
Being okay with not being okay and being okay with being okay
Small moments of stability can make a difference. You don’t have to know where you are going, and you do not have to suppress your grief.
Give yourself opportunities for healing with small moments.
